A workshop in Nairobi orders a grille for a 2019 Mitsubishi L200, and the part arrives with its mounting tabs about 15 mm away from the bolt holes. Nothing was mis-shipped. The truck on the lift was built in 2018, before the front-end change, and the part number belonged to the later truck.
The mismatch happened when the order was written, not when the part was made. That is why the first useful question about any pickup truck body parts manufacturer is not about price. It is about how the catalog is built. A supplier that files body parts by brand, then model, then model year, then part number gives you something a price list never can: a way to prove, before you pay, that the grille, fender or headlamp inside the carton belongs to the truck in your bay.
What follows explains how to read that structure, where the year and region traps sit, and what to send a supplier so the first order is also the last correction.
Broad coverage means little on its own, because almost every parts supplier claims it. What separates a working catalog from a brochure is whether the same nameplate appears more than once, split by generation and by market build.
Look at how a pickup-focused range is organised:
Two details a thin catalog cannot fake. First, the DMAX is broken into six year bands instead of one bucket labelled DMAX. Second, the 2021 Hilux appears twice, as REVO 2021 and REVO 2021 Middle East, because the Gulf build uses different body hardware. A supplier that ignores that split will happily send Gulf-market panels to a Southeast Asian truck.

When you open such a page, you should land on one body component for one build year, never on a generic Hilux grid that mixes generations together.
Body panels are bulky and hard to compare from photographs, so the numbering carries the burden. The convention across this range is an XT- prefix, then a model and year code, then a serial.
Read XT-24DMAX-004B and three things are already visible: it belongs to the 2024 DMAX, it is the fourth item in that group, and the B suffix marks a variant of the same item, often a colour or finish difference. XT-18L200-012 applies the same logic to the 2018 L200.
| Prefix | Vehicle and build | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| XT-21RV- | Toyota Hilux REVO 2021 | Lighting, body and engine items sharing one series |
| XT-15RV- / XT-VG- | REVO 2015 / VIGO 2005-2014 | Two generations, two separate prefixes |
| XT-21RVM- | REVO 2021 Middle East | Gulf-market body parts kept apart from the standard 2021 |
| XT-24DMAX- / XT-20DMAX- / XT-18DMAX- | Isuzu DMAX 2024 / 2020 / 2018 | Year encoded first, then the model |
| XT-12DMX- / XT-DMAX- | DMAX 2012-2014 / DMAX 2002-2011 | Older trucks use a different abbreviation for the same nameplate |
| XT-18L200- / XT-24L200- | Mitsubishi L200 2018 / 2024 | Grille, tail lamp and panel items share a prefix |
| XT-21NAR- / XT-15NAR- | Nissan NAVARA 2021 / 2015 | Two year groups, two series |
| XT-700P- / XT-600P- / XT-N100P- | Isuzu 700P, 600P, 100P NEW | Commercial-truck lighting |
Two practical uses follow. Checking a carton against an invoice takes seconds, because the year is printed ahead of the model. And when a supplier cannot say what XT-18L200-013 covers without looking it up, you have learned something useful about their picking process.
Almost every body-part return traces back to one of three causes, and none of them is manufacturing quality.
The DMAX shows this better than any other truck in the range. A 2012-2014 truck and a 2015 truck share a badge, a cab and a silhouette, yet the fascia and lamp geometry changed in between. That is exactly why the catalog lists DMAX 2012-2014 and DMAX 2015 as separate lines rather than one entry covering 2012 onward.
REVO 2021 and REVO 2021 Middle East are the clearest case: same year, same name, different body hardware. If your fleet arrived through a Gulf distributor, ordering from the standard 2021 page is a coin toss you do not need to take.
An L200 sold as a 2019 model can sit on the 2018 platform, which is why its tail lamp is filed as 2019 L200 Tail Lamp Normal inside the L200 2018 group instead of under a 2019 heading that does not exist.
If your first order is a DMAX front end, work through a model-specific selection guide before picking numbers: this Isuzu DMAX headlight and grille selection guide shows how parts are matched to year bands.

The practical effect: a workshop rebuilding a front end can usually consolidate grille, headlamp and fender with one supplier, because those categories overlap model for model. Engine-side components are the exception, so verify them separately before assuming a single purchase order covers an entire repair.

The first two resolve most disputes later. The market question in particular separates a REVO 2021 from a REVO 2021 Middle East before any money changes hands.
Often it does. Year bands follow platform changes, not the calendar, so a truck registered in 2019 may sit inside an L200 2018 group. Send the VIN and a photo of the mounting points, and the correct band can be confirmed against the same series.
Finish and trim level. The L200 2018 group carries a black grille under XT-18L200-012 alongside other body items in the same series, and the trailing digits or letter suffix mark that difference. Quote the full number, not just the model.
Usually yes across Toyota, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Nissan, where both categories appear for the same model year. Engine system parts are listed only for Toyota REVO 2021, so that category needs separate confirmation elsewhere.
Match three things: the prefix on the label, the year band on the product page, and the physical mounting pattern. If the label reads XT-15RV on a truck that takes XT-21RV parts, stop at step one.
A pickup truck body parts manufacturer is, in the end, a filing system with a press behind it. The trucks in your fleet are identified by build year and market, and the parts that fit them are identified by numbers carrying that same information. When both sides of an order speak one language, model, year, series, serial, the 15 mm problem stops happening.
Find your truck's exact year band first, then work down to the component. You can browse the pickup body parts catalog by brand, model and year to see how each series is listed before you request a quote.
